What is the most correct bible?(Christians only)?

Question

I want to be sure and hopefully get others to be sure about the bible that is so famous today. The KJV and the NIV. I want to know the real. The original. The unchanged. The-- well you get the point

According to Mr. BeDuhn, the NWT was the only bible that translated all the above verses without bias, and Accurately.

It don't exist. There technically never was a "real" one.

There is a bible with NIV, KJV and original Greek with Greek tanslations. They sit side by side in columns.

It's an interesting Bible and it costs about $40 It's actually a Lexicon Bible.

There are also dedicated Greek LEixcons like the BAGD or Della Scott but these are usually keyed to speific editions of the Bible.

I would tend to think the closest thing to an "original" new Testiment might be a Greek or Russian Orthodox Bible.

There are also ancient Greek manuscrapits and translations, but all of them seem to date fro 3 AD whihc is when Constantine censored the Bible.

As for the cloest Old Testiment, the Hebrew Torah and Tanakah, although understand there was even confilict and censorship here between two groups (one of which was the Pharasees, you know, them guys who had JEsus crusified) over written text v. spoke stories.

YOu also should read the publications of the Dead Sea Scrolls and look over the Censored Books from the Bible and the Books purged by King James between First and Second Edition.

Then you decide.

From comparisons, the KJV is the best translation. It might not be the easiest to understand but once you get past the old english it renders the word of God in its best english form.

Another interesting version in modern english is the Complete Jewish Bible. It brings back the original Jewishness of the Bible and uses some of the Jewish words like Shalom and Adonai.

The old english is not so archaic but if you have any trouble there is a great KJV dictionary with up to date definitions and word usage to help understand the word in todays language. You will find that most of the words are still used everyday in many books and magazines.

The best Bible is the New King James version.The reason is it's the King James without the "Thees" and Thous".Jesus didn't talk like that ,the English did when it was written,(that's why the book of mormon is phoney,it's full of ,thee's and thou's but it was supposed to be translated from Egyptian...but I digress..)OK...the Hebrew Bible was translated into Greek when Greek became the main language of the world oh,about 200 B.C.,the story goes....70 scholars went to Alexandria,Egypt and translated the Hebrew into Greek in 70 days.This is called the 'Septuagent'(meaning 70).This was the common Bible at the time of Jesus 200 yrs later.Jesus was born about 4 BC and died and rose 33 AD(AD does not mean after death,it means Anno Dommini..year of our Lord)He more than likely quoted from it.When the Septuagent was translated to Latin,then to English..we get the same Bible Jesus probably read from(that is the Old Testament).Jerome was the translator and he was very careful to do the job right(see: Jeromes Vulgate).Ther are Bibles that use older manuscripts,but older doesn't always mean better(take chicks for instance Ha Ha)

ok well all you will be able to read is translations. So the question is what is the best translation of the bible. The bible was wriiten in Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic. I like the NIV as I feel it is written in the language closest to ours and is understandable. The kjv is what I grew up with, and it sure is pretty language, but not language that we speak. Just stay away from tampered with scriptures, such as the catholic bible , and the mormon bible.

The KJV is the most accurately translated english version.
The NIV is the easiest to read since its in modern english.
If you want the unchanged original...be prepared to learn Greek and Hebrew.

My Pastor Prefers the Authorized King James Version, I like the New King James Version for its readability. The New International Version uses a Modernist approach to The Bible, and I don't like some of their changes, but it has it's uses. The New American Standard is good, and I've used it. Some like the Amplified Bible, I feel is some areas it goes past amplification to interpretation, and I don't agree with it's interpretations.

I believe the KJV, I've been reading it since I was a little girl, and it seems to have the most powerful interpretation.. but others love NIV, and I just can't understand it-- it drives me crazy.

The very best translation of the Hebrew Manuscripts from Hebrew to English is " The Book Of Yahweh The Holy Scriptures"
There are times when words cannot be translated accurately because of the lack of corresponding words in English.
