You pray for them and live what you believe.
You plant the seed and ask God to help it to grow!
God can turn someone around, even an atheist.

Well, I would say your best bet is to just be their friend. However, the topic of whether or not there is a God is willing to come up, so I would suggest being knowledgeable. Look through the religion and spirituality section, and find out what atheists' main ammunition is (why does a kind, loving God allow bad things to happen? etc) and find answers to them. If you want to bring your friend to God, and the situation arises (don't pressure them) then you'll be prepared to answer questions.

If your friend is atheist, let them be who they want to be. That should not stop you from being their friend for Jesus befriends everyone. Just keep being your friend's friend and spread the love.

I am an atheist and a great friend. What exactly are you asking? How to convert them or banish the demons that control them? Don't be ridiculous, and don't be a bigot, everyone has different beliefs, and you have no way of knowing that yours are right.

Why would I be your friend if I'm smart enough to be an atheist?

You can't change the person, so just accept them for who they are as long as they accept you for you.
No one can make you be an atheist if you don't want to prescibe to their way of thinking.

I have lots of friends who are atheists and we get along great! In fact I'm one myself!
Your question is idiotic and narrow minded - you should consider the logic much better expressed in Debra M's question:

You accept your friends the way they are. However as a Christian, we are here to speak to others about our savior Jesus Christ and about the free gift of salvation. The same way you accept and respect your friend, he will accept and respect you. So you can speak to him about Jesus and have him hear about him. Then he can make a decision to accept him into his life or to let that opportunity go by. But, later down the road, he can't never say that nobody offered to him the gift of salvation.
