Hey come on lady.firstly there is no rule that states that whatever u think will not happen cannot happen.Secondly even if this is true,big deal what's the problem just go till the extent u r comforatble with and then pull back.but i hope that he knows ur emotions for him cos that is the most important part the rest is not in ur hands.If u feel comfortable go for it if not,realx at home.But if this is a case of he dumping u after u had dated,in that case u should go just to tell him that life never stops and maybe he might have been happier that today if he was with u.
To sum it all, see ur comfort factor and then take a decision.

This life is too small for all of us to live with grudges. I am sure you have valid reasons for ur hatred but am even surer that GOD has given you this opportunity, to lose an enemy and win a friend. Try to know him, maybe he is not that bad as you think. But if you conclude that he is even worse, then even you shall be happy to find your judgement about the guy proved right. You will gain anyway!
