If you haven't done anything for 2 years, why bring it up now?
Leave the past in the past, and enjoy today for we are not promised tomorrow.

if they're still alive, what's the problem? you shouldn't buy from pet shops anyway...always try the local pound. but that's another question. often pet shop owners are duped into buying dogs from farms that abuse and neglect the animals and don't have the resources to keep the animals healthy, or simply just don't care. local pounds are full of unwanted yet loving pets, and even looking in your local paper for puppies for sale from private owners is better than buying from a shop that's really in the business to make money rather than seeing that the animals they're selling are going to a good and responsible homeowner. sorry for the lecture here, but this is one of my passions as i am an ardent fan of dogs and an advocate for their safety and well being. as to your dilemma, i would say that you should broach the subject with the owners and invite a discussion about the dogs having been sick. maybe they didn't realize and this will give them the opportunity to go back to their supplier and think twice before taking anymore animals from that company. if you like them and they like you, then there won't be any hard feelings over the matter. you're expressing concern for their business. good luck to you!

I would get hold of the humane society. The store could be getting the animals from puppy mills. Sometimes dogs get sick from being around alot of other dogs. My heart goes out to you because I know how frustrating this must be on you and your wallet. You know the owners and you like them being what? You like the owners or the dogs? If you like the owners and they were good animal people, then the store is at fault in my opinion. You should of went to an adoption center because they make sure the dogs are ok...We had alot and I mean alot of dogs roaming our area a while back because some of them were just dumped along the road; they were good breeds no one wanted them. Then there was this little fifteen pound mixed breed that visited us all day. Just back and forth. It was raining. She was so cute! When the neighbor took her in then promptly kicked at her, she came back to my husband. She is ours. We took a chance and won alot. Sometimes it pays to check out different places.

Pet store dogs and pups come from puppy mills. Look that up online and you will understand why your dogs were sick. You can either confront the owners or you can take them to a vet. Next time check your local shelter you would be surprised what you'll find in there.

rule#1 - never buy from pet stores! maybe the owners of the pet store don't know this, but 99% of the puppies come from puppy mills - where they just breed dogs willy-nilly without trying to decrease breed-specific diseases that breeders try to avoid. you might want to kindly bring this to the owners' attention. legally, i dont think they aren't forced to pay you money unless they knew beforehand that the dogs were sick and they sold them to you anyway and didn't tell you they were sick.

plus, even in pet stores, i dont think dogs and cats get the socialization or space that they need. all the pet stores i've seen keep their high-energy puppies cooped up in cages all day, except for a few short walks or if someone asks to see them.

It might not be the owners fault. It does depend on the vendor, where they bought those puppies. Was it brought to the attention of the store owners that the puppies were both sick? They may want to change where they are buying.

I would take them to the vet and get them treatment.

Then I would learn from my mistakes and next time I want to buy a dog, I would ask for health records and get the dogs checked before I bought them.

Dogs do get sick. Your statement does not give any indication that the dogs were neglected in any form so I can only conclude that they were sick from normal causes.

1. NEVER buy dogs or cats at a pet store! always buy them at the animal shelter or but them from an acually person. 2. what you should do is talk to the ownner about the whole sick thing if you know them. And before you buy any dog if you can meet the grandparents and parents of the dog so you know what his/her tempement is like, also if they have had any problems with legs, teeth, joints, these things could really affect your dogs life span.

Never buy dogs from a pet store!! Those puppies come from puppy mills, that are known for unhealthy animals and often inhumane conditions. Next time, go to your local shelter or a rescue group for the breed you want.

Ask them what they think about the dog's being sick, in a friendly way. Don't buy dogs from pet shops, big picture life lesson.

Thats what happens when you buy puppy mill dogs. They are bred is poor condtions and forced to live in tiny cages and have litter after litter. ALL pet stores get their puppys from puppy mills! I would call the news and spca to see if they can help.
