Adobe Premiere Pro 7 laggy?

I have 60 gb of free space. 1.00 GB of Ram. When Im editing my movie with Adobe Premiere pro and previewing it, it is laggy and hard to edit.

i am previewing it from the editing program. I dont mean exporting the movie into a file.

I FOUND OUT ALREADY! THANKS ANYWAYS!the preview screen was at high, i put it on auto and it fixed it

Your movie file is large, your adobe is eating ram, god only knows what else you have running! Turn some crap off you dont need running! Buy another stick of ram! If your ram isnt enough, adobe has to constantly save info on the harddrive and retrieve it! This is why your movie is spastic!
