Some nonbelievers call us Christians crazy for believing what someone said thousands of years ago. They say we are foolish for believing what a man could say. They say that we do not see reality because of this.

Here comes the twist:
They believe what men today say. Doesn't that seem odd? It's crazy to believe what someone said thousands of years ago but men today are telling the truth. But aren't they also believing what a man says?

If a man thousands of years ago can say that what he's saying is true than so can a scientist.

This wasn't an arguement. Just a simple question.

We have learned a lot in the last 2000 years. Many, many scientific discoveries have been made. There is very little science in the book that was written back then. Herein lies the major difference. Many of of us who are nonbelievers look for proof, and don't base our beliefs on hearsay.

The only difference between the beliefs of you and I is that you are believing something without a shred of logical proof. I do not believe everything someone says as a fact, but instead do research and then decide for myself what makes sense.

Your entire argument doesn't really work either. If men can lie now, they obviously could have lied thousands of years ago, and thus the Bible and other holy books shouldn't be trusted, as they were created by men.

Not only that, but they believe what Euclid said, and he lived a number of years before Christ.

Many people's arguments against Christianity are full of vapor. I wouldn't worry so much about it. It will all become clear to everyone, given time.

Many books for religion have been both proven and disporved over the years. Its called the right to choose what we think and feel when it comes to thinking what one person says over another is true. The best way to get people not to think your crazy is to stop trying to force them to beleive your right, thus taking their right to chose away. That is the biggest problem with religionreally, the whole my way or your going to hell thing. LOL.

The thing is, many of the things that you believe have been proven wrong. Most of the things that the scientists say can be proven correct. There are some exceptions of course.

People will chose to believe what they want regardless of who says it and when it is being said. It does not matter when it was said, under what conditions or by whom. If the person believes it then it is so.

That is why I think it is important to stand by your conviction of what YOU believe is true. Stay true to your faith. I say have an open mind but stay true to your faith!

I believe very little of what any man (or woman) says if I can't find at least a little verification. That goes especially for someone whose agenda is as obvious as someone behind a pulpit.

Honey, I NEVER believe what MEN say.........

Well, most of them. However if you want to believe what a bunch of wandering, poverty stricken goat herders and fishermen said over 2000 yrs ago...by all means do so. Just don't expect everyone else to believe it.

Yes, I think people have a way of hearing what they want to hear, and they will never realize that what any human being says can be subject to debate or change, but only what God says is constant, infinite, unchanging, and true.

1 Corinthians 1:18
I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are being saved recognize this message as the very power of God.
