There isn't enough money or food to go round. The reason for much of the poverty is simply that there are toom any people on the planet. Many of them living in areas that cannot support large populations. If the population is reduced to say 1/2 a billion maximum (worldwide), there's be virtually no poverty and almost no environmental problems. We're just breeding ourselves into extinction.

some pretty bad places in the world where poverty is bad, but not the United States. We give a large amount of tax dollars to the poor, some deserve it others are stealing it. most of the poor have a TV and video games and get a pretty good food allowance. I dont worry too much about it. I have to work hard enuf to keep my own head above water. I do give to charities and have helped poor families, ones I know are for real. sleep well if your own family is not in poverty, thats the best you can do.

Oh Yeah... what do you expect? that i have to suffer insomnia to be a good person in your eyes because there is poverty in the world?, not being able to sleep will solve the world's poverty?? My opinion???there always be the ones who have a lot and the ones who have a little, very little, so the ones who have a lot feel they are on top of the hill, looking down to the needy. Did I mention the republican party???

My answer is this, we cannot save a world that does not want to be saved. We have given enough money to Africa, Asia and the Middle East. The corrupt politicians keep it and the people suffer. If we go in and actually try and feed them, we re jailed or killed. Until the people want to rise up and do something about it, we need to cut the money off. That money could be spent better at home taking care of Americans.

I sleep well at night knowing we try even though we should stop it!

the people that live in poverty do so by choice of their own.

they could easily move from the shanty towns that they live in where there is no food and everything is polluted and live off of the land somewhere. but they choose not to. they couls live as the Native Americans did and form communities that would help each other. they could walk out of the dirty cities and have some diecent type of life but they choose to stay. i cannot help people that will not help themselves. so i do not worry about them...
when i see a homeless man in my town i geve them a job application for the place that i work at, knowing that they will hire just about anyone, and about 20 bucks for fome food and probally a shower at a local truck stop. after that they are on their own.

Do you feel personally responsable for all the woe's of the world?
Its the leaders and rulers of this system that are the ones
directly responsable for all the suffering that you see.I believe If
you do all you can to live a moral life, help others if your able to,and
praise the creator of the universe, and ask forgiveness through his
son Christ Jesus.accociate with true Christians, spread the
Good news of Gods Kingdom through the King Jesus. then you
should'nt have any trouble sleeping..baring medical complications
of course.I dont.......I should also add to my statement regarding
the leaders and rulers that they are not totally to blame...most of
the credit goes to the ruler of this world...satan the devil....

Unfortunately poverty will always be with us as long as there is selfishness and greed

well im not sociopathic so im going to say that im against poverty. i dont see why i should lose sleep over it or any of the other million problems in the world. we should all do our part to end these problems and become involved in the fight against the ones that mean the most to us: disease, poverty, war, what have you. but i dont see the point in staying up all night panicking.

I think it sucks that there is 1% of our population that holds 40% of america's money. 70-80% of americans are living in or near poverty level with no hopes of recovering. We have lost touch of social ladders, our society has two steps (and a far gap between)-rich or poor. What bothers me most is people talking about buying hybrids and lower energy products, but what part of that 70% of americans can even pay for the products? It's retarded. Give tax breaks to people who buy hybrids, whom obviously have the money to begin with and keep taking from the poor. Its disgusting.
