In gambling you have 2 options, pay tax on your stake or pay tax on your winnings. When you buy a lottery ticket you pay the (5% ?) tax on your stake so there is no tax to pay on your winnings.

Firstly you jammy sod!
No you don't have to pay any tax on the winning but if you were planning on sharing the cash the person you "gift" the money to may have to, as there is a strict gift allowance every year.
You can complete a syndicate form when playing the lotto to say you are both entitled to it though, so you may want to complete one with "yesterdays" date on it.

your winnings are tax free but you will begin to pay tax on your investments for instance if you keep the money in a bank account the interest is taxable, or if you invest in shares.
