Ok all you folks that want to put the political spin on the situation need to get a reality check. Then you need to take a breif lesson in supply side economics along with a breif look at supply and demand trends. Durring the summer moths when folks are travaling more (i.e. kids out of school & vacations) the demand for fuel goes up. Therefore the big three oil companies can hike up there prices and bust their proffit margins. They know that no matter how high they make the price consumers will be forced to pay the price. When the end of summer aproaches they drop the prices to incurage more spending on the part of the consumer. However keep watching. With winter fast aproaching in the northern states the price of fuel oils will start another upword climb. If you noticed 4 years ago when fuel first broke the $1.50 per gal. mark the consumer was in a panic. The prices climed to $2.00 per gallon. Then they dropped back to $1.60 and every one said look how low the gas prices are. Then after The two major huricanes in 2005 the prices went up to $2.50 and the consumer panict. They would son reach $3.00 before the clime haulted. When they dropped to $2.00 the consumer said look how low the gas prices are. Now in 2006 the price has gone over $3.50 in some places and once again they have fallen to as little as $2.15 in some splaces. And once again consumers are rushing out to buy "Cheap" gas. So llok at the price we as consumers have grown to accept. A sustained price increase of over $1.00 per gallon in 2 years.

Maybe because they noticed no one wanted to buy gas so they decided to drop it so they would get a lot of people to buy gas and get more money.

The mid-term elections are approaching in November. The Bush republicans are running scared. Its the one thing they will point to and say, see things aren't so bad. And within three months of the election, if they remain in control of both houses of congress they will rise again.

No hurricanes, Israel is not at war, and summer is over, I think on top of that the oil people are having to pay taxes on all the money they screwed out of us.
