Make sure your component cables are plugged in tightly at both ends. They usually run from the back of the monitor to your DVD player, and are usually labeled "Y, Cr and Cb." If nothing seems better after you make sure they are tightly connected, try swapping the Cr and Cb cable at both ends. Does that make a difference? If that makes a difference, you have a bad cable. If it does not make a difference, either your DVD player or your monitor is broken.
