Talk about Holy Wars! My goodness! It's like there is this massive anti-evangelism movment on Yahoo Answers! Believe whatever you want to, but allow everyone else the same benefit. So you don't believe. Then move on to another category. Good grief!

Wow! So many of you merely reinforced my comments. Banning? Government? Denomination? I didn't mention a single one of those and yet there you are preaching to me about all of the above. Not that I'm surprised.

I didn't even say that I was Christian, and yet you assume and start in with the ugliness.

Kathryn B's comment is so blatantly representative of what I am talking about. She doesn't even know which religion I embrace.

Must be all that tolerance they keep insisting they have!
Like Kathryn B, many are just misinformed. Last time I looked, religion played no part in politics, abortions are still legal, God isn't allowed to be spoken of in schools or school functions, they can't even have Christmas programs anymore. Crosses have been outlawed where people use to put them on the roads to commererate those that died, the 10 Commandments can't be in any governmental building. Good grief, what more do these people want???? This is the same group who keeps telling us how intelligent they are for believing in a big bang verses God, yet the can't figure out how to read the news to realize they already have everything they want. They even get paid holiday pay for Christmas, which I'm sure they take advantage of. I think maybe the only thing they're really good at is whining, which is why they do it so much.

Well, that's what we could call religious tolerance, right? Quite in tune with the pope's recent statements...
Let's see how I dismantle your bunch of ill-connected sophisms. To begin with, we don't preach. Preaching is something different. We reason, and we expose the results of our reasoning.
Secondly, I do most certainly not ban your preaching. I oppose it, but I'm not doing anything (as though I could, BTW!) to keep you from stating whatever you want. Don't take an "I don't agree" as if it were a "You're wrong. Shut up!" All I say is "I don't agree", and I think I'm entitled to it.
And then there's your most delicious token of intolerance. You whine, unfairly -may I say-, that you're being silenced here (which is totally wrong). And right after that, you give us your most blatant request to ban US! See what I mean? You claim we are banning you, and then you try to ban us! The nerve you've got!
IF that even deserved an answer, it would be that religions don't have the monopoly of spirituality, to begin with. And besides, if we are living in a world were religions pervade every aspect of civil life (including that of unbelievers), I think the least we should get is a right to fight your domination back, or are we supposed to give up and let your religions wash up our minds altogether from any free attempt to think it out by ourselves? Sorry, but I refuse to be like you...

Let's see how many times we can spin out this ridiculous question. There is a massive anti-evangelism movment in response to the scary revival of xtian fundaMENTALism. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. If xtians would stop trying to remove everyone else's rights we would be more than happy to ignore you.

First, it is not your given right to tell anyone else to move out of a category. It is an open and public board meaning anyone who stays within the rules of Yahoo is free to post. You have the right not to open and look at a question you don't agree with. The same goes for anyone of any belief system. As a free country each side has the right to an opinion.

I don`t preach .
I do defend once I am lumped in with some of the idiots claiming to be non - believers.
Don`t always assume that the person answering is really an Atheist .
The is one guy ( a racist )that always answers in a derogatory fashion.
He is probably a Baptist KKK member .

I only "preach" when I see someone who is spreading hate for any group, or someone who thinks their religious beliefs should influence us all and be part of their laws. I don't care what you believe. But when people talk trash or try to tell me that I have to abide by their rules, I'll speak up.
