How do I get legs like Natalie Portman in Closer or Mariah Carey. I want sexy and VERY toned legs. WHat do I need to do? Run, cycle, what?

Cycling, running and working on the elliptical machines give a great lower body workout. Try exercising with a stability ball as well. In fact, the current issue (October) of Shape magazine has two GREAT workouts that incorporate fantastic lower body workouts. Leg lifts, step-ups on a bench or aerobic stepper also work great. Try different types of lunges as well. Don't rule out the pool - you can build those leg muscles fast with the resistance from the water, without putting undue strain on the tissues. It's a win-win. Pilates works well, also. It's mostly about finding what exercises you can do without compelte boredome, and what works for your body. Finally, if you have fat to lose, don't forget to get into high intensity cardio to help you along. In no time, you'll be a brick house! I did it...so can you.

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

Cycling can really help. Running isn't as good for women since it can encourage the build-up of cellulite. Also a healthy diet will help, as well as drinking as much water as possible (both of which are advisable anyway). If you're beyond the age of 21 chance are you'll always have some degree of cellulite, and it's very hard to get rid of. Only a reduction in overall body fat can affect it's composition.

I hear running on a treadmill and cycling are good but also yoga or pilates are good for toning muscles.
