find out where they are registered and then buy them a gift. It doesn't have to be expensive.

You can give cash, that's always acceptable. But I don't like to give cash, so what I do is ask the maid of honor or best man to see where they are registered. I then get either a gift card or a gift off of the registry. Something that most people like which is unique is concert or sporting tickets or a reservation at a bed and breakfast or hotel about 2 hours away for their 6 month or 1 year anniversary.

Good Luck!

It depends on how close you are to the couple. Money gifts are usually a gift the older generation gives the younger-- you wouldn't give a cash gift to a friend. Also, gift cards are considered very impersonal.

Check weddingchannel.com to see if they are registered any place. If so, you can select a gift from their list and have it shipped to their home (do not bring a gift with you to the wedding, that's not proper-- it should be shipped to their home before or shortly after the wedding).

You can gift them with anything you choose, based on your budget and affection for the couple.

2 months or not, they thought you were close enough of a friend to invite you so you can politely decline the invitation in which case you don't need to send a gift (no explanation necessary but if they ask, tell them you will be out of town that weekend)or you can accept the invite and get them a gift. Their wedding registry is a good idea, if you are going to the wedding solo, spend 50 to 100 dollars (depending on your money situation) if you will be bringing a date, plan to double the amount.

Honestly, the etiquette is to give cash or a gift that is at least equal to the amount of money that they are spending for your dinner/booze. If it's a nice wedding with a sit-down dinner and open bar, you should spend $100. If it's buffet style and cheesy, $50 is good. If you are close friends with one of them and can't afford this much, give what you can. They'll understand.

I'm not inviting friends to my wedding in order to get gifts, I want them there to share my day with me. If they can give a gift, that's nice, but it's enough for me that they are taking the time to come.

If they are registered, you can get them a gift. If they are not, cash would be good. It does not have to be a very expensive present. You also do not have to go if you do not feel that close to them. You CAN blow it off.

get them a gift certificate for some where like walmart, pier one, Lowe's, target ect.... $30-$50 don't go under $30 you'll look cheap, and don't go over $50.oo because you haven't known them long. if you don't want to do that then go to walmart and buy them a picture frame.(for wedding photos) a set of white towels, and wash rags(4 of each), toaster, can opener, throw blanket...it doesn't matter what you get them, just keep the receipt because they will end up getting 20 of everything any ways and more than likely return your gift.

The rule of thumb is you try to match your plate. In other words, if at the reception, food for each person is $100, then get a $100 gift.

Bring a cash gift of at least $50. You haven't known them long so that will be very much appreciated.
