The Orthodox icon of the crucifixion shows Christ suspended quietly between heaven and earth as the tree of life.
Catholics and others choose to glorify the death of Christ by depicting Christ in agony and suffering.
Lose your secular focus and understand Christ for who he REALLY was - the tree of life that the Devil did not tempt Adam and Eve to eat from. Instead the Devil chose the knowledge of good and evil and Adam and Eve lost their faith in God and disobeyed his orders.

I don't know, and I think it's horrible. I don't know what possesses people to tell little kids the terrifying scriptural stories that go with it, too. As for R-rated movies, I wish there were some absolute law that forbade adults to take children to gruesome films, whether the gruesome film in question is "Hannibal" or "The Passion of the Christ."

Yea, it's a violent way to be killed. The fact is, good people as yourself would line up to do the same thing to him today and that is what is grotesque.

There's nothing wrong with telling children that Jesus died for them, from an early age. The bible says we're born into sin. Obviously you're not a Christian, I hope you're not trying to stir trouble.

Because Christ was crucified for our sins so that we could have eternal life---grown up and kids alike.
There is nothing R rated about that

It's part of the 'indoctrination' process to scare you into believing a fairy tale.
