I primarily attended a Southern Baptist church throughout my youth. I can only imagine how many people would have left or fainted had anyone that wasn't white walked in for service. I realized as I got older that the churches views were not correct. I thought that if we went to school together, ate lunch together and so on that we should be able to worship together. After not going to church for many years I attended services with a friend of mine and there were people of every race there. I was delighted. The church is nondenominational and they welcome everyone to come worship.

You know the church is actually supposed to reflect the community despite the differences of races. However, the reason that churches are divided by races is because some denominations are ignorant and resist the move of God' Spirit to move in them. I have been to black churches that did not want white people in them. And some of the members go out of their way to make them feel uncomfortable, likewise with some of the white churches I attended. A couple of years ago, I saw this white preacher who was know all over the world. God had used him to reach millions of people all over the world. However, one day I saw he had a T.V. ministry. That particular day he was talking about how he felt that people of different races shoould not mix. While he talked, I noticed that he was uncomfortable and did not even believe what he was saying himself. The Holy Spirit was convicting him. A couple of weeks later he died and went home to be with the Lord. What is the point of this? God was showing me that no matter how high you go in Him, no longer will he tolerate teachings which will divide people in the church.

Hey,
I have never known of that really, forgive me if you think I am ignorant but I live in England.
To me I would not blink if I saw anyone of a different orientation anywhere.
I don't get it. I am white-pure English. I have really white skin, my friend who is of the same race has darker skin.
Should we be allowed in the same church even if we have different skin colours (shades).
It is stupid, people don't judge on eye colour so why skin colour.
In England it is more likely to go to a church because of your belief no colour.
That is the way it should be :)

It seems from tribal mentality. Ppl oftentimes feel more comfortable in groups with others who share their same perspective. Anyone who would go to a church solely black or solely white shares the same mentality as the rest of that congregation. On a larger scale, it's about fear-- fear of leaving one's comfort zone and finding other ways to relate to ppl aside from race. Being of the same race is an easy, common denominator, but it has no place in religion. In the Bible, it says there's neither Greek nor Jew.. that is also interpreted as there's neither Black nor White-- everyone is equal in God's eyes, and until we embrace each other in our churches as well as in our ethics, we'll never be perfect.

I agree! It is so sad that that happens in some parts of the world!!! We should all just go to the same church irrespective of race !! We are all God's family, there to worship Father ,Son and Holy Spirit. He'd be delighted to see all different races under the same roof!!! Why can't we all be happy to be together united under God?!

When I go to church I am surrounded by white people, black people, Asians, Hispanics, people from India, from the Middle East - a whole variety. That's one thing I love about being Catholic.

the place of worship i attend has black and white and has an impartial brotherhood worldwide of all races. because God is impartial it sounds like you need to find a new "church" to attend.

donald has a good point there. have you found a religion that supports your view yet?

Sweet heart you need to go to a different church if that is the case where your going now. My church represents all of the people in the community. We have every different color and shade of people you can have. It is beautiful and loving.
God bless you! And yes we are all brothers and sisters!

i bet jesus would want that too - for us all to unite as one church -
black or white - purple whatever. it so anti christ the way the church is now days - not just because of the race thing but because they edger god out with all their traditions and man made rules etc. we need a relationship with God that is real and not ritual. understand?

depends on what church you are going to...my church doesnt divide black from white...all is fair in the eyes of God...no human being has the right to be superior to other race...God has created us all equal..go to a church who believes everyone is equal as its the heart that God looks upon...not our skin color...
