Sorry guys - that should read - 'went on to do, or not do, as pros'.

'smitty' - you can do better than that. We all know who went on to become champs and who didn't. Look at the bigger picture.

This question is for the serious boxing fan, of whom you are one - I'm surprised not more of the usual crew have not gone near it.
All you guys - take a look at those lists and think of them in their entirety.
Who went on to achieve what magnitude, and who didn't?
Who was supposed to, but didn't and so forth...

I forgot that Hill was on that '84 team. Thanks for the info. I would have to say the 1984 team, more world champions professionally and more depth than the 1976 team. If they were to box off I think '84 beats '76. Two great teams and a very good question, thanks Brad. (Isn't it just "wonderful" how politicians like to put their two cents in when it comes to international competition)
Russians or no Russians the '84 team was better.

The 1976 replaced into much better. reason being that The Cubans did no longer compete in 1984 if so various American does no longer have won gold i.e. Tyrell Biggs does no longer have overwhelmed Stevenson. The 1976 team beat the two Cubans and Russians. the actual celebrity of 1976 replaced into no longer Leonard it replaced into Howard Davis. real the 1984 team had greater gold yet way much less opposition.

That's a great question! I'd have to say the 1984 team by a hair! it's very close though. Excellent question and a tough one too. Both teams had some good fighters and some hall of famers too (Leonard, Michael Spinks'76-Holyfield, Whittaker '84). I just think a few more from the 84 team accomplished more a pros.

The 1976 team had 5 pro titles and the 1984 team had 7 pro titles.

I'd go for the 1976 Olympic team, they had the eastern bloc countries competing.

Sugar Ray and Micheal Spinks are definitely hall of famers.
