Present perfect:

I have eaten
You have eaten
She has eaten
We have eaten
They have eaten

It indicates something done and completed in the past. If someones asks "Did you eat?" You say, yes we have all eaten.

Past perfect:
I had eaten
You had eaten
She had eaten
We had eaten
They had eaten

This also indicates something completed in the past, however you would usually say something else after it. If you are telling a story about something you might say "We had eaten dinner when the neighbor came over and offered to give us dessert."

present perfect is used for the action recently completed with it effect relavant to present timeand past perfect tense is used to show an action completed in past without relevance to present time.when time passes present perfect changes into past perfect.present perfect takes adverbs like recently, just now etc and never take adverb of past as long ago, before a few years, last day, previous night etc past perfect does not take present adverbs you can find more on this in any good book of grammar written by a british writer or indian writer from ciefl
