Being Christian does not mean that you'll be free from the stress and pains and troubles that this world has to offer. There are many traumas that you may have suffered as a child that a good Christian psychologist can help you with....you may also have a chemical inbalance that meds like Wellbutrin, or Zoloft can actually help you with.
God the great Healer can also use man to heal and help man. Remember Dr. Luke in the bible?
We need to use the resources that God has made available to us....sometimes the wounds in our heart are very deep and we need to talk them over with a professional. A Christian professional would be best because he or she will stay true to biblical guidelines and not steer you the wrong way...and if you find one that doesn't feel right, then look for another.
Most important, don't forget to talk to God about it, read His word, and perhaps look for Christian books that deal with your particular situation.
Hope this helps.

Being a Christian doesn't make you any different than anyone else. You're still human, and the only thing that makes you different is your faith. That's all. I used to be a Christian, I'm an Atheist now. Being a Christian didn't make things, or life any easier. If you are severely depressed, get help. Everyone has to deal with loneliness, I've learned that in life you have to be your own best friend and help yourself get through the hard times. Don't give up on yourself, and please get help if things are serious enough.

Being religious is wonderful and a blessing. No matter what religion you are.

Sometime depression is a chemical imbalance inside us. You should seek professional help to see if you just need to talk about stuff, or if you might need some medication to assist with your current situation.

Remember our higher power, in this case GOD made it possible for us to have doctors and medicine. So take advantage of it. Don't be like the old joke where the train, boat and plane all comes for you but you are still waiting for GOD.

God gave us help. We just need to use it.

Blessed be.

Being a Christian doesn't mean we won't have issues.
But we do have a Savior that we can lay that stuff down and not pick up again. His burden is light.

I have suffered from depression many years of my life...Basically it is a form of self centered behavior..We think constantly about "me"..how this effects ME...what about ME...
To get out of that...do some volunteer work at a blind center, homel;ess shelter, a church...whatever...read to kids at school..anything that will take the focus off of yourself...

Your brain has chemical imbalances. You should see a doctor who may be able to prescribe a drug to rebalance it.

This has nothing to do with religion. It's biology and medicine, just as a broken leg would be.

Praying won't make it better, but it will reveal a path to make it better.... such as putting you in contact with the people who can help you.

Because it is YOU who suffer and feel lonely, not Christian.

As Christians, we can rest assured that, whether we are having "mountain days" or "valley days", we can know that we are always loved by God. If you are feeling down, go to the Bible. Go to Psalms, and read a few out loud. The layout of Psalm 89 is great. At the start, it talks about how wonderful God is, and all the wonderful things he has done. But then, things seem to start going downhill. It's like that for the rest of the Psalm, then, at the very last verse it says:

Psalm 89:52
Praise be to the LORD forever!
Amen and Amen.

No matter what troubles we go through as Christians, we need to know that we are loved by the Lord, and as such we should praise Him, whether or not things are going our way. God knows what He is doing. Surround yourself with Christian friends, go to a good church, connect with the pastor, don't be embarrassed to talk to him. Talk to other Christians you meet about your problems. We are all together as Christians in the body of Christ; we support each other. Surround yourself in Christian music. Buy the song "Above It All" by Building 429, listen carefully to the lyrics. Most importantly, pray. Pray for stregnth and encouragement, be patient, and God will answer. God bless!

Psalm 40:17
Yet I am poor and needy; may the Lord think of me. You are my help and my deliverer; O my God, do not delay.

Psalm 63:8
I follow close behind you; your strong right hand holds me securely.

Psalm 18:6
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

Psalm 138:8
The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever— do not abandon the works of your hands

Psalm 34:4
I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 88:14
Why, O LORD, do you reject me and hide your face from me?

Psalm 27:9
Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.

Psalm 102:2
Do not hide your face from me when I am in distress. Turn your ear to me; when I call, answer me quickly.

Psalm 69:17
Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble.

Psalm 143:7
Answer me quickly, O LORD; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me or I will be like those who go down to the pit.

Psalm 69:16
Answer me, O LORD, out of the goodness of your love; in your great mercy turn to me.

James 4:10
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Sound like my problem. Being a Christian does not remove us from the world's problems. I have very few friends - am very choosy about who I hang out with.

because your not looking in the right direction. remember the story of jesus walking on water and peter coming out on the water to meet him? what happened when peter noticed the waves - he sank..........that is what happens when we take our eyes off of jesus too. we sink into loneliness and depression.
