And someone said "No that's not good enough." How would you feel?

Hint: That's how God feels when you deny His son.

How would you feel about cultures that demanded human sacrifice? Not only a "human," but a family member! Why would anyone worship such a monster? We learned from Abraham/Isaac that human sacrifices are never acceptable to God. All He demanded was the aroma from little critters. The sacrificial meat, grain, oils, etc. was support for the Levites who were not given any land. Since Jesus wasn't burnt, he wasn't even a proper sacrifice -- no aroma!

Surrounding cultures participated in human sacrifice, but God chose a people to be "holy" (separate/apart) and forbade His people from making human sacrifices.

Though this is a simple way of understanding the Bible, it is not the only way. There was message of love and acceptance that Jesus spoke about. It was not so much a belief in him as the savior who would die on the cross for our sins, but a belief in him as the messiah. That we might remember and practice his teachings, and thus be saved. Denying the 'sacrifice' of God is not a condemnation, denying a message of love and acceptance however, is.

the life of my son is not mine to give and as a father i would give MY life for his long before i would allow harm to come to him.

this is part of the reason that i feel that the Christian God is a creul and hateful god and i choose not to worship him even if i do revere his son as a great teacher.

A.) Jesus is no more of God's child than I am, or you are.
B.) Christ taught is that we are all brothers/sisters and children of God.
C.) Jesus did not die for my sins. He lived for my life!

And, the only Beings sacraficing their children are the fanatical Muslims!

Actually, the Bible says that "God was in Christ, reconciling the world back to himself". 2 Cor. 5:19
But, of course, he knew in advance that not everyone would accept his gift-but endured it anyways for the love of those that would!
