in some forums they said that bose sound was just enhanced not the best quality after all.

don't get their new 3,2,1 series with only two speakers, where it IS enhanced they do sound great, but its not comparable to real surround sound
get their real surround sound systems
Bose's sound is unparalleled

Listen to what these forums have to say. Better yet, go down to your local CE store that carries Bose products and have a listen for yourself, and compare to similarly priced audio gear.
There are many questions on Yahoo Answers that you could browse in the search that would give you even more insight on the Bose subject.
The enlightened audio hobbyist will not choose Bose. Just from my (25 years of experimenting with audio/video gear) experience.

I used to be a Bose supporter, but not anymore. When I re-entered the
speaker market for an upgrade, I was VERY disappointed in what they
offered for the price they wanted. I don't know if they got left behind or are
just cruising on their reputation.

No, it's over priced crap. Anyone who knows home theater will tell you the same.
The only people who believe other wise either work for Bose, or have fallen for their BS hype.

Lets put it this way: I was walking thru a store once and heard these really awesome tunes...I expected to see a set of speakers about the size of a Buick! I looked around for several seconds but didn't see any large speakers. I determined where the sound was coming from and was very surprised they (2of them) were only about 5 inches cubed, if that!
