This is cobblers. You don't get jobseeker's allowance if you have been sacked. It's the same as if you voluntarily resign - you made yourself jobless.

You'd be better off letting him take responsibility for his own life. So far he has not been too impressive: (1) he did something that resulted in him getting the sack, and (2) instead of looking after himself and getting a new job, he did something that caused the fracture in his hand. If he was left to fend for himself he might become a working man, instead of a shirking boy.

As hes now unavailable for work he should be entitled to another benefit, not sure if it would be Income Support or Incapacity, you will have to check with your local office.

on sick yes ,sick pay yes jobseekers as well no,as soon as he is fit to search for work ,jobseekers untill then sick pay

he can go onto the sick, im sure he could claim jsa when his hand has healed.
