I think you asked a very legit question and there was absolutely nothing wrong with your question or how you worded it. I've always wondered the same thing. I live in a pretty nice area of Fort Worth TX and they are ALL asians in the nail salons here. I do think it's because it's probably not that difficult to learn that trade, and it doesn't require a lot of English in order to master the skill. However, I think they're being pretty racist by constantly speaking in their language in front of english only speaking people. I myself speak two languages and I was always taught not to speak a different language than those around me in a public area....it appears rude. So, with that being said I'm pretty sure we'll all continue to see asians working in that particular field since they make a very good living doing it.

if u let em no thts wot your interested in they should.
i worked as a saturday girl in a salon for two yrs, i did every thing except cutting and i had client coming in specifically asking for me to give em a hair wash n stuff. was great n they've always promised if i decide to go down that route theres a job available most salons take on students. my old salon was only small but wud always taken on student hairdressers, jus make sure u let them know and show them your keen to learn by assissting the hairdressers where ever possible. but wen ur 16 if u leave then you should then be able to go to college where u work in a salon most of the weeks n spend a couple days in college training.
but then saying tht i left n im now working part time in new look i cudnt deal with the low pay any longer im now on double wot i was.
but glad u enjoyed it,

Good for you! When you graduate from school, you can attend beauty school and then take the state board test for cosmotology. When you pass, you will be a licensed cosmotologist and can work in any salon you want.
If you continue to work where you are, perhaps they will be willing to work with your schedule and hire you when you are board certified. Best wishes.

Go to stylists' school and they will. I think you must be licensed in that line of work.
