I let my self have a big meal of lettuce, a couple of baby carrots and some brown rice. the lettuce was drizzled in fat free itailian dressing. that was at 12:15. I am really hungry already. last week i was trying to lose weight and just ate like a small plum and a couple of mini rice cakes and that held me over until the next meal. So, why is it the more calories i eat, the sooner i get hungry again?

My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

It's because you need some protein in your diet and a little bit of healthy fat. Those two make you feel full and satisfied. Eating salads and brown rice is great, but with it you need some protein and fat, too. Otherwise they're just carbs and eating only carbs will produce a spike in your blood sugar level, energizing you at first, but then it'll go down quickingly, making you feel tired and giving you more cravings.

I suggest that when you eat salads, add some chicken breasts to it or some garbanzo beans, or whatever beans you like. Top your salad with a little bit of olive oil (a little goes a long way).

Carbs can make you hungry sooner, no matter how much you eat. Thats why they always say you'll be hungry in an hour after eating chinese food. Chinese food in american restaurants is largely RICE.

But carbs is also what the body uses for fuel. Without carbs, you'll have to eat a lot of lettuce not to be hungry.

Get some whole wheat bagels. I find that half a bagel is adequate with any meal to keep me full.

Lettuce is like water. You are not eating anything of "substance". The rice is starchy and will sustain you longer. Try more proteins to help your stomach not be as hungry for the next meal.

first of all you aren't eating a bunch of calorie's. A salad and brown rice isn't a meal honey. you need a lean protein to go with it. Try tuna or skinless boneless chicken. your body does need some fat to function. You need to try to eat better and stop worrying and enjoy your food. you will consume less if not worried about what you are eating.

What exactly is your question? You say you are on a diet of fruit, veggies and lean protein, then you ask why you can't eat other things! What don't you understand about the diet you have chosen?

You are not letting your body fight cravings. That makes your body ask for more. Your metabolism runs faster when you eat small amounts in short time, but if you eat a lot of amounts in short time you will gain weight.
