For the Saved person, in death you will reach your final destination. You have a longing to see you savior. I think everyone probably fears death, because no one has ever came back and told you what it was like.

Fear in general. Most people don't have the innate ability even to contemplate the notion that their life is only what they themselves make of it.

If you must decide, then choose fear of death. That fear reaches even those who do not believe in gods.

When I realized that God REALLY loves me it cast out any fear of anything even death. When you know without a shadow of a doubt that you will be with Him for eternity you fear nothing.

I think people misunderstand "fear of God". I believe it means respect Him. When you love someone you don't fear them you have ultimate respect for them.

Sadly so it can be either yet in reality the true motive of any father or mother or our God would be that we turn to them through love not fear however many have yet to reach this understanding.

hooked? well that is a deep subject to say people are addicted to religion for any other reason than to glorify God. to go to church for any other reason than to give God place in their lives is a hypocrite - just an act for whatever benfits they may accrue.
you see true worship of God is going to church because they want to get closer to God despite any other benefit. God blesses the meek and lowly(humble) the proud will fall.

Fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, but loving him is what keeps me wanting to be hooked!

Or maybe it's more Guilt than Fear. Or even worrying about "what will the neighbors think" in rural areas and small towns. And it's also kind of a social club -- a place to brag about the deer you just shot, show off your new mink coat, gossip about the neighbors who are on their way to Hell. "A fun time was had by all."

fear by itself doesnt save a person

"he who fears in not perfected in love" 1 John

they might be hooked but not saved
unless by fear of God you mean a healthy respect for God and awe of him, rather than fear of reprisal out of rage
