This condition of yellowness (of the skin, eyes, mucous membranes, etc.) is called jaundice. It is, in fact, the result of problems with the liver. It means that bile pigments normally excreted into the digestive tract and eventually out with the feces are abnormally deposited throughout the body and produce that sickly yellow color so common in patients with liver problems. Hopefully they will figure out why your mother's new liver isn't functioning, and soon. You can't live very long without one. Hope she pulls through this troubling situation.

Jaundice. When the liver stops functioning, its yellow bile goes into the body, turning the skin and eyes yellow.

I'm not a health care professional, but I would say liver failure/problems/rejection.
Also, I know that babies sometimes suffer from Jaundice which is a yellowing of the skin.
Prayers for your mother hun! Hang in there ;) much love

The liver cleans out the blood and if it is not functioning properly then you can get jaundiced (or yellow coloring)...

People who have hepititus get this... and a few other illnesses too.. not sure which ones though.

the term is called jaundice, and your mother has it because her new liver is not functioning properly....she's in the right place if she's still hospitalized, hopefully her doctors will help her one way or another to get healthy again. best of luck to you and your mom!!
