You have BEAUTIFUL hair!!! I had the same problem as you when I was young.
I now use deep conditioning shampoos and several rinse out conditioners including the generic for Paul Mitchel's "The Detangler". I mix Aussie's "3 Minute Miracle and "the detangler" in my hand and apply it to the ends of my hair from just below the nape of my neck all the way down (I can sit on my hair!) and leave just enough of it in when I rinse that the water comes out of my hair with a slightly milky look to it. I also use spray on conditioners as hair spray. If I need to hold my hair in place, then, THAT'S when I use an extra-hold spray with NO LAQUER!!!
Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!

I have very thick hair that used to be frizzy they only way to thin it down is to talk to hairdresser about having some layers put in. To help smooth your hair I would suggest using a moisturising shampoo and conditioner and one a week use a deep conditioning hair mask or treatment. Also while out and about try using a dehumidifier spray (applies like hairspray) Lee Stafford does a really good one that is available at Boots. Hope this helps.

you must be my twin cos my hair is exactly the same. I only have to look at a rain cloud and it frizzes! I have just had mine cut into a short bob with layed ends and had it thinned out as the under layers were thick. I now am a slave to my straighteners. Dont think any thinning shampoos will do anything to be honest you really need to get a good cut and keep up to it, this then will be enhanced by using a good shampoo and conditioner.Shampoos are meant to clean your hair not help to style it, use one appropriate to your hair type ie: greasy, dry etc.

You should try a razor cut, it brings the volume down significantly (but have this done by a stylist not a hairdresser) it could be a little expensive but worth the results. Also, you can try Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner or Potion 9 from Sebastian. If you want to try inexpensive products Pantene now has a complete line called sleek and smooth which I highly recommend.
Good luck.

i have thick wavy hair and it used to be very frizzy. i started using the dove therapy shampoo and conditioner and in about a month i noticed that it would not get frizzy anymore. the more ive used it the better it has gotten. to style it i just use a bit of mousse and hairspray of the same brand and let it dry naturally.

I had the same problem. I recently purchased a intense masque treatment from the range "kerastase". It is slightly expensive but is well worth the money! Some products are specially designed for thick hair. As you continue to use, you can really notice the difference.

I can understand with you because mine is the same and I Hate it. I wash and leave it when i go to work, it's that curly they call me Annie, and it does my head in. I try to make time to straighten it most days, but as soon as i'm in the rain, it curls up again. I've been told i'm lucky with my hair, but i just don't like it, i'll have to live with it and look at your answers for advice.
p.s. My avatar is me when i straightened my hair.
