Yes. Plastic is made from fossil fuels. They can be treated to retard burning, but basically they burn.
Some believe that we could use waste plastic to make energy.

It depends on the type of plastic. Generally speaking, the denser the plastic in question the less likely it will be to catch fire. A very thin plastic, such as kitchen roll, can be "on fire" for a few second but will quickly melt/burn. Thicker plastic products, such as those used in some milk cartons, will only burn when heat is introduced to them.
