It's called an "insurance policy" Mr. nice guy, with it I get into heaven no matter what. Just kidding, my belief, when looking into religion, sorta' fit within parts of every beliefs of these religions, and I said a pinch, but realy I'm more of a cup of Buddhist, 1/2 cup Christain,1/2 cup Jewish, and 1/2 cup muslim, the other 1/2 of that cup does not belong.

Oh and for the guy who asked why do I care, ask the people who care about how to pronounce Iran(Eran), and Iraq(Eraq).

Great question!
People need to understand the difference between Islam and Muslims..as not all Muslims understand Islam and apply it 100%.
Many Muslims today are only Muslims in their ID and know nearly nothing about their religion and history...while other Muslims have gone to the extreme pole and joined Al-Qaida and other organizations from its likes..Today's Muslims unfortunately don't represent Islam..if you want to know Islam read for yourself and don't let anyone influence your way of thinking against or towards Islam until you achieve your own total convince about the religion.

If there is a particular tribe called the "Musl", I have never heard of it. (Doesn't mean it doesn't exist, though!) I also have never heard of a country called "Musl", that would have people in it called "Muslims".

I'm not certain, but the term "Muslim" could easily have come from a mis-pronounciation of "Islam", and have just stuck over time. The two sounds are not that far apart. Just like the country of " India" and the "Hindu" religion both get their names from the "Indus" river. It's just how people changed the sounds of the words over time.

Then WHY do nations formally make ISLAM the national religion!

Why do Muslim areas in a nation, such as in India or parts of China, want to be automoumus nations!

A rose by any other name, as Shakespeare said. It's really immaterial what word you use for them, Muslims practice Islam, and those of the Islamic faith call themselves Muslim, and why do you care, anyway?
Just picking nits?

People are grossly uninformed about religion and they will believe anything.
