I'm a Christian, and I don't hate gays, the bible says we must love the sinner, hate the sin. Both Holy books from the religions you have mentioned say homosexuality is a sin, it's not natural! I personally know of ministries who pray in order to cure homosexuals, feel free to contact me if you're interested. Are you homosexual? Repent, the bible says that no homosexual shall enter Heaven! Would you prefer me to be a hypocrite, and be a Christian who doesn't live by the religion I preach?

Our religions teach us that it is wrong. I am a Christian and I have friends who are gay. Personally, who a person sleeps with is none of my business and I try to keep it that way. But I will admit that I am tired of having the whole issue shoved in my face from those both pro and con. There are extremes on all sides, Christian, Muslim and Gays. They are the ones who make it difficult for the rest of us.

Just because a person says they are christian doesn't mean they practice their faith. God loves us all all the time even when we disobey him. We should not condemn Gays ourselves. But the bible teaches that homosexuality is an abomination to God. The act not the person. No more than a mother (a normal mother) could hate her child for disobeying could our Heavenly Father hate us, but both can hate what we do. We must pray for one another and guide one another gently. It isn't our place
to judge, I can't throw any stones I might break my glass house.

Noone has the right to hate gays who should have their civil rights protected under the Constitution. Hate crimes and propaganda against anyone are punishable by law. Also, you can sue for refusal of benefits. Gays are entitled to civil unions. The real debate is about same-sex marriage and adoption. Some agree, some don't.

More than a coincidence, it is false advertising! God forbids His followers to hate ANYBODY. This definately includes homosexuals!

Therefore, anybody who hates gays and says "I am a Christian" is a LIAR. They should be called out as such!

I had a friend who was bi-sexual. I loved my friend, but not in a sexual way. My love for him, however, did not mean that I approved of everything he did or thought.

My friend died of AIDS.

no its no coincidence, our theology tells us its wrong so we believe, what is so hard to grasp about that concept. for those that ask, without referencing the bible, all we need is the bible.

However I have met quite a few "homophobic" atheists

Instead of being taught acceptance, they are taught hatred. Holy scriptures forbid the act of homosexuality and instead of teaching acceptance, people are taught to hate.

you forgot just plain old homophobia... but i think its because "believers" tend to think their ancient texts, bibles, etc, should apply to modern laws, since they believe their god never changes (this line of thinking would justify slavery too btw)
