The question you should be asking is.....

"Are there any online Ph.D programs that are accredited and will get me a good job?"

And currently, the answer to that question is....................."Yes, there are currently online Ph.D programs (offered by professional schools such as the University of Phoenix) which are accredited, but big business has been slow to recognize these degrees (as have Universities).

You could try the Open University, there programmes of study aren't strictly on line but it is distance learning. They offer various PhD courses and research courses. They are based in the UK and very highly viewed for their excellent quality study materials. The only problem is that their courses can be very expensive from outside the UK.
