The Pope did not say that Islam became violent. He reported that a Byzantine King questionned the validity of a faith that makes use of the considered jihad to transform human beings to its ideals.

He is your religion's "Holy Father", some example he is setting by insulting Islam by means of a quote. What he did is wrong. Or would you have agreed if it had been your religion??
