It stands for post script
it was first used, back when people wrote letters on parchment with a quill, and they didn't have an eraser or backspace button, so if they had forgotten to write something in the letter, and remembered it after signing it they would just write PS and what they forgot to write.
hope this helps!!!

P.S. stands for Post Script, which literally means, "after the writing." It came into use before the days of computers and e-mail when people actually hand wrote letters. If someone needed to put additional information in a letter after the valediction, they would use a Post Script.

It stands for 'post script'.It's to show that you realised that you had something more to say after you closed the letter.

P. S. is "Post Script" meaning after the content of the letter
R.S.V.P. is probably the other thing you're asking about (I'm assuming) and that is for the French "Respondez Si'l Vous Plait" meaning "Respond If you please" or "Please respond" like "tell me if you're coming or not" :)
