Proove to your parent that you can take care of your current pets and they will give you more respect

See if they would be willing to make a deal with you. Agree to a specific set of chores / responsibilities / other measure of responsibility such as keeping an A or B grade average for a specific time (such as 4 or 5 months).

Put the agreement in writing and post it (maybe on the refrigerator) for everyone to see. Then each day or week as you do the tasks or accomplish what was agreed upon, you write it down on the sheet and have your parents initial that you did it.

At the end of the agreed time, set out exactly what you will do for all of your pets so the burden of having the pets won't fall on your parents or other family members.

Remember that a pet is costly and vet bills and vaccines, etc. will fall on your parents. If you babysit or have a newspaper route, mow lawns or something else, offer to save up money during that 4-6 months that you will give to your parents to help with the cost of the pet.

Then have your parents decide with you about the appropriate pet such as a mixed breed rescue dog who really needs a home and will be a good fit for your home.

If they say "no," go ahead and still show responsibility for the pets that you have. Maybe in a year or two, you can ask them to reconsider.

Good luck!

I think your parents are making a decision based on responsibilty.
Would another dog effect the attention & care that the animals you already have need? Have you decided that you want a certain breed just to have it? (I know you'd love it too) Are you tired of your other pals or bored? Have your parents mentioned anything about good space in your home to accomodate another pet? Think about it for awhile. Maybe if your parents see that you
are making a well thought out & researched decision they might change their minds. Make sure you aren't just like going "Oooooooo.....Now I want a weenie dog! They're sooo cute."
PS In my world there can't be too many animals in any household. The more the merrier.....But you must consider the quality of life that you will provide...ALL animals, especially dogs, need exercise...Do you walk your Corgie? It's important that you spend time with your dog & exercise him so that you bond tightly..that doesn't mean putting him in a yard to play by himself.
AND PLEASE , if this works out for you, DON'T FORGET TO RESCUE or ADOPT! AND SPAY OR NEUTER!

I agree with your parents...who are actually the ones that would have to cover any vet bills. You have morethan your share of pets. Remember in 6 yearsyou have the option of moving out and turning your first apartment into a zoo if you want! Listen to them now...andappreciate the pets you currently have.

I agree with your parents, the three pets that you already have need your attention, adding another may create problems for the ones you already have. Good Luck

well what i do is show that i am responsible enough to have more than one animal.I keep them fed, watered, try giving them a bath too.( that's is your cat is declawed)((so you don't get scracted bad)) or just ask then sometime. If you have money buy one your self then make then buy it the food, leash, and collar. I did this and now i have 4 cats three dogs 7 horses and 13 lamas.

Don't get another dog. Be happy with the animals you have now. It's enough responsibility already. Also, the pets you already have will get less attention if you get another dog.

If Im right you said that you have a corgi. That is a breed of dog, so that means you have one. Be happy with what you have.
