Well, I researched Borley Rectory whilst in the days of being heavily into paranormal investigating. At one point myself and two colleagues attempted to spend a few nights there to gain data.(but that's another story!)

All I can state with certainty is that SOMETHING went on there, that could not, at the time, be explained by any rational means.
The discovery of the nuns skeleton, found through a medium who realised the hauntings were a direct result of this nun, brought an end to it all(as well as the rectory burning down shortly thereafter). The church remains and a new rectory has been built in a new location, opposite. Anyone calling there or looking around the church will be confronted by a member of the clergy who will ADAMANTLY insist there has NEVER been anything happen there(despite archived records being held of the event in the local records office, I might add!)and you may even be lucky enough to be "shooed" off-site with a shotgun pointed at you by the ministers wife, as was our priviledge when we arrived there to investigate!

I can say for certain, whatever happened, it was NOT a hoax.

It's a while since I've read about it but I believe it was exposed as a hoax and those involved admitted as much.

Harry Price, the principle investigator, was shown to have faked a lot of the phenomena he wrote about.
