We really need to stop thinking we are ever going to "win" the war in Iraq. It's not a football game. We need to focus on how to best leave the Iraqi people with a functioning, safe place to live. We can't just leave. We made this mess. We have to clean it up. If that means getting help from other countries, let's do it. Why is there so much violence there? Because nobody is in control. Same thing would happen in any of our big cities if all of the sudden the police forces were gone. People who had grudges would start firing away. I would shoot first if my family was threatened. We keep thinking of this as a war on terrorists who have come to Iraq to fight our troops. OR maybe Iraq is attracting the lawless, violent people, and we have our fair share here, all over that region because no one is there to stop them.

You sound a very kind hearted person. That being said, no its not time for the war to stop. Soldiers join the army knowing full well their job is to fight and die for their country, whether it be on American soil or foreign. What we are doing in Iraq is good, but doing the right thing is never easy. We are showing them there is a way to self govern, to take control of their country and make it in their image. So continue to hug your boyfriend, if your religious pray for the men and women over there. While it is hard to accept war is necessary and the is the only thing terrorists understand,

The "war" is over. We "won". we are now occupying Iraq until a stable civil infrastructure can be established. The US should not be the only country involved in stabilizing Iraq, but we need to take responsibility for what we did. As Collin Powell said to George Bush "You break it, you bought it".

Which war? Iraq or Afghanistan or war on terrorism? Iraq is going on so that we don't have the war here in our streets. Afghanistan is to remove all vestige of the Taliban so that they may not regain power and support another attack here, the war on terror will not end for decades if ever. I'm sorry, I feel for you but in these cases, war is the answer.

What war are you referring to. I seem to remember a religious war between Muslims and the world; a Financial war between the USA and India and China; a political war between the Shiites-Sunnis and Osama-Joe; and a whole bunch of people trying to fight over Clinton's left-over garbage and Bush's attempts at keeping America free,
Which one should I bring my gun to?

as long as people want to kill us because we dont believe in the same thing as they do, we have to continue the fight. they will not stop until we all convert to their version of islam. this war didnt start with 9 11 we just started fighting it like a war then.

I hear you. I wish we hadn't started until we had all the information. (No WMD in Iraq, why were really fighting--Taliban, not terrorism--etc.) I want it to end now. However, we would have to leave troops over there to help them rebuild since we are trying to get them to turn to democracy.

America need to wake up. These wars in Afganistans and Iraq does not bring justice into the world, only more famine and hatred.
