Not only frontline will help but as they keep coming back you may find fleas are in the home - do not be ashamed of this - you have animals in the house it cannot be helped. Call your local council and ask if they have a pest control department. We have one in Milton Keynes. They will come out (for a fee) and spray your home - it is guaranteed too. If they don't they may advise a local contractor.
This will get rid of flea eggs that can wait a year to hatch sometimes - which is why your dog may be suffering all the time.
It really is worth it. Trust me I have two dogs! There is a great site - if you are in the UK for your vet products - vetmedic.

Are you cleaning your carpet and furniture and bedding? If not the fleas are still in all that and when your dog lays down they jump back on him. Frontline is an excellent flea product. Also putting a flea collar on would help.
For your home you should set off a bug bomb. Make sure everyone stays out of the house for at least 8 hours including the dog. Read the directions thoroughly because you are going to have to cover your electronics and certain things up.
After you flea bomb there are a couple of things you can continue to do for the next month or two. One is to put a flea collar in your vacumn. If you have a bag kind put it in the bag. If you have a bagless put it in the canister. Also once a week or every two weeks, take Borax laundary booster (It is in the landary detergent aisle. It is a powder and in a box) and spread it all over the carpet in a fine layer. Let is sit for 15 minutes. Than you sweep it up. Immediately take your bag or canister outside and empty it or throw it out. Anytime you sweep make sure you empty it right away or throw the bag out. If you let it sit there the fleas can escape out. I did the borax and flea collar thing last summer and they haven't come back.

1. Go to the vet.
2. Use Frontline Plus. Kills the fleas and the eggs. Every month all year long.
3. On the premises, use Knockout. My vet uses it on the vet clinic and it kills fleas and eggs and lasts for months.
If you use a flea collar you are only protecting the dog's neck.
If you use flea sprays or powders, you may be only stunnning the fleas and you have to follow up with a flea comb and discard the stunned fleas.
If you do not kill the fleas living in your carpet and furniture, they will just come back again and again, or attack you instead of the protected dog.

First, clean the house and car. Then go to a pet care place and get the dog "flea dipped". Then Frontline once the dog is dry and then once a month every month of the year. You have to make sure it gets on the dog's skin and keep the dog from getting wet for about 24 hours while it absorbs.

If inside, vacuum the carpeting and sprinkle Twenty Mule Team Borax on it. Repeat this everytime you vacuum for at least 3 weeks. The borax will kill the fleas in the carpet and with continued use will kill the fleas that will be hatching from the eggs.
As far as the dog, I use an otc called Bio Spot. I've used it for over 10 years on all my dogs (3) and on all the rescues that I have had. It works! Haven't seen a flea or tick in over 10 yrs.

Like other people have said, make sure you are treating your house and car as well as the dog. Fleas like to lay eggs in carpet.
Also use a long term treatment on your dog but make sure you get it from a vet even though it may be more expensive. Many of the products available in wal mart or the grocery store can make your dog sick and a vet bill is more expensive than a quality flea treatment.

treat your dog with 4 fleas tablets , they start to work within 20 minutes. you'll have to keep using them until all the fleas are gone on your dog. then hover any room your dog goes in from top to bottom. then spray everywhere with something like Shirley's flea defest ( you can get it for 12 months or 3 ) and make sure you do all behind your sofa it takes a lot of time n effort but you'll get there in the end.

Programme Injections from the vet are the best way to get rid of fleas completely, much better than frontline. It is one of the most expensive ways, but it really works. They need 2 injections a year (£25 each time).
It works from the inside and does not involve poison.

we cant stop fleas from coming back but u can cotrol them by proper hygiene..coz dogs plays w/some other dogs too whom we didnt know might have some fleas too..everytime u notice ur dog scratching due to itchiness look at it and when u see something like flea, remove it right away so it wont lay eggs in ur dog..try some fleas powder too,put it in ur dog after taking his bath and let it dry.clean ur dogs place too, there must be some egg lays there thats why it keeps on coming back. And oh, 1 thing any forms of garlic, onions, pepper and other food spices are poisonous to dogs..vets actually didnt recommend it!

There are many products which can rid your dog of fleas. But since they keep coming back, that means there are fleas and flea eggs in your dog's environment. Advantage and Frontline are popular.
For around the house there are also many products for killing fleas and their eggs that get into your rugs and furniture. You need to clean and vacuum extra often. You may need to fumigate it.
Good luck
