Yes. Christ does not call us to be perfect. We are called to repent for our sins, not to be sin free.
On of the reasons I really like the Church I go to now is that the elders aren't afraid to admit they have sin in their lives.
We all have jelousy, we all have times when we could have been better Christians. Some people have more burden on them than others...
If the pastor is struggling with a very difficult sin, such as alcoholism or infidelity, it would be best for him to have some time away from leading to focus on getting himself back on track.
A man should have his 'house' in order before he leads others...
But we cannot expect any human to be perfect.
I would not trust someone who presents the image that they never sin. Everyone but Jesus does. That is why we need Grace.

That depends on what sin that He was doing. Sometimes we sin without even knowing it. In our eyes, some sin is worse than others. To me, it depends if it was done out of an evil heart. Pastors are just men or women. We all have our short comings. He or she does get a chance at repenting, but I would stay away from a Pastor that falls. He or she should already have their act together before becoming one. I would still love them, but they would lose my respect.

In the Catholic religion you see men who have devoted their lives to a higher purpose continuously mess up...not little mistakes. But BIG TIME screw ups. Yet you can't base your faith on a human man, I guess.
My answer is yes. I would continue to love and respect a pastor. For as you said yourself. The person is only human.

Everyone is only human. You would want people to still love and respect you if you 'erred' in your ways. Live and let live. Your Pastor is ONLY a man, but he gave himself to God and to helping everyone. No one can be perfect.

Especially then. If my Pastor tried to be so God-like that he tried to convince the world he was perfect, I would lose all respect for him.
Just like I lose respect for the so-called Fundamentalists that give my religion a bad name by playing the holier-than-thou card and trying to scare the world into salvation.
We are a fallen race, ALL of us, including our leaders. We all need a Savior, we all need to be mindful of our commitment to God, and we all need to repent when we sin.

Yes, I would, because no one, not even a pastor, is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. I try to love and respect everyone even when they aren't nice to me, or if they do something bad. Everyone gets tempted and does wrong things, because everyone's human.

There was only One Perfect Human Being. He died on the Cross to save us from our sins. Pastors are human, just like the rest of us. Major sins, like child molesting, rape, murder, theft, etc. should be brought to the attention of his supervisors or the Elders of the Church. But as for misquotes, etc. perhaps he just needs some help. Is he elderly? Maybe he is close to retirement age. Perhaps someone should volunteer to help him with his sermons, etc. to proofread what he writes. Bible says we should love our fellow man as ourselves. It also says he who is without sin should cast the first stone. Are you without sin?

I do respect my pastor. He is a human. He has flaws and freely admits it. However, he is anointed of God to preach the word, and he is the man who is leading me to Heaven.
