last night i went to a church campout and we played this game called british bulldog. basically one team tries to tackle people on the other team. of course, my best guy friend picks me up and someone pushes him over, i land on top of him, and i start to have this sharp stabbing pain in my rips and it's getting hard for me to breath. i stand up and try to continue playing and it just gets worse. i sit down and people start rushing over asking if i'm ok. i tell them that i'm fine to prevent my guy friend from getting into trouble. my eyes start watering and i'm holding me mid0section and it becaome obvious that i'm not all that fine. my guy friend tells the story and gets in trouble and as long as i didn't move much it wasn't so bad. it prettymuch went away overnight, but this morning i had this weird feeling in my right ribs again and whenever i get up or sit down, there's this strong aching pain. is it a good idea for me to see a doctor or should i just wait?

It would not hurt to go to the doctor,to get an exray. I did that one time, so I know the pain your'e feeling. You need to make sure about it, because a lung can be punctured sometimes, and you don't know it, and infection could set in. Just check it for your own peace of mind. It is easy to bruise a rib, by hugging too tight. Hope you get better.

Sounds like a good idea to see the doc. I broke my ribs last year when my step son age 2 jumped on me . My husband fell over a staircase last month and cracked his ribs. There was nothing to do for both of us but we got meds for the pain

You probably broke a rib. You should go to the doctor to make sure your lung is okay. They won't do anything for a broken rib, though, except maybe give you a prescription for pain medicine.

It's probably just bruised, but even if it's cracked, there nothing that a doc could do....you'd only run up some big bills.
Just take care of youself, and don't exert a lot during the next week or so....You'll be ok.
I see that everyone says "go". I'm serious....there's NOTHING that a doc can do for it. He'll exray it and say..."yep, it's broken...Take it easy for a week or two"....that's about all he CAN do. I mean, you can't put it in a splint, for crying out loud!

Yes. Sounds like you have cracked some ribs. They can't do much for it, but they can give you pain killers.

You should definitely see a doctor. You could end up with permanent damage if you don't!
