Satan is a fallen angel and is called "the prince of demons" (Matthew 12:24), which seems to say that demons are also fallen angels. Satan has well-organized ranks of angels (Ephesians 6:11-12), which seems reasonable to believe are the demons. According to Scripture, some demons are confined or bound already while others are loose to do Satan's work (2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6).

Demons are spirits (Mark 9:25 "evil spirit," Ephesians 6:12), who know Jesus (Mark 1:24), know that they are doomed (Matthew 8:29), know the plan of salvation (James 2:19), and have their own doctrine (I Timothy 4:1-3).

The main thing that they do is to attempt to disrupt the purposes of God (Revelation 16:13-16)

RIGHT after his baptism, Jesus Christ went into the Judean wilderness to pray and meditate. There Satan the Devil tried to get him to break God’s law. However, Jesus rejected the Devil’s bait and did not get caught in his trap. Jesus faced other wicked spirits during his ministry on earth. Yet, time and again, he rebuked and resisted them.

Bible accounts describing those encounters should convince us that wicked spirit forces do exist. They try to mislead people. However, we can resist these evil spirits. But where do wicked spirits come from?

God made a multitude of spirit creatures long before he created humans. (Job 38:4, 7) One of these angels developed a desire to have humans worship him instead of worshiping Jehovah. Pursuing that objective, this wicked angel resisted and slandered the Creator, even suggesting to the first woman that God was a liar. Fittingly, then, this rebellious spirit creature became known as Satan (resister) the Devil (slanderer)

Later, other angels sided with Satan the Devil. In the days of the righteous man Noah, some of these abandoned their service in heaven and took on fleshly bodies to satisfy their lust for sexual relations with earthly women. Satan no doubt influenced those angels to take that disobedient course. It led to their fathering the hybrid offspring called Nephilim, who became violent bullies. When Jehovah caused the great Deluge, it destroyed corrupted mankind and this unnatural progeny of the disobedient angels. The rebellious angels escaped destruction by dematerializing their fleshly bodies and returning to the spirit realm. But God restrained these demons by treating them as outcasts in spiritual darkness. (Genesis 6:1-7, 17; Jude 6) Satan, “the ruler of the demons,” and his wicked angels nevertheless have pushed on with their rebellion. (Luke 11:15) What is their goal?

The evil objective of Satan and the demons is to turn people against God. Hence, these wicked ones have been misleading, frightening, and assaulting people throughout human history. (Revelation 12:9) Modern-day examples confirm that demon aggression is more vicious now than it has ever been. To entrap people, the demons often use spiritism in all its forms.

Demons refer to Jinns in Islamic teachings. The word Jinn, etymologically is derived from the word "to be hidden". That's why we cannot see the jinns but they can see us. However, the common understanding is that, when people see ghosts, spirits or demons, they are actually seeing jinns.

They are fallen Angels who took sides with Satan. Satan was able to gather to his side one third of the Angels in heaven.
Since the Devil early in the past century was cast out of heaven his brood went with him...the demons or the fallen Angels. They dwell some where to the vicinity of the earth. They now have their hands in leading the nations to the final war of our creator called Armageddon.
But God is looking on to make sure his people are safe.
They are misleading the entire inhabited earth.
They are beautiful Angels not hideous looking like some artists painted back by the Catholic Hierarchy. centuries ago to scare the common people to stay with their Church.
Sad is it not?

My understanding there were three main Angels before the creation of the Earth..There are thousands and thousands of angels but three main ones: Michael, Gabreil and Lucifer... Lucifer revolted against God..... several angels joined Lucifer in this revolt.... God expelled Lucifer out of heaven along with the angels that revolted with him... Lucifer is now known as Satin..... The demons are the fallen angels.... It is thought to have been about 1/3 of the original angelic host...

The spiritual warfare now on Earth is a result of Satin and his fallen angels, (demons), that are in opposition to God..... Each man and woman born on earth has a choice to either Accept the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and become born again or to reject Jesus.....

Satin and his demons are still and always be against God...they do not want any man or woman to trust in Jesus....

Demons were once angels that chose to follow Satan in his rebellion against God and they were consequently confined to the vacinity of the earth when Jesus cleaned up in heaven in 1914. That is why the earth is such a mess now.

Exactly the same as devils, bad angels.

They are the ones that decided to back up Lucifer-Satan in the beginning of the beginning and challanged His sovereignty. One-third of all angels are bad angels.
