Faith is a homonym.

Faith in religion or god.
Faith in yourself and your family.
When given choices, opinion overrules thoughts and common sense.

Well by definition a fact is a fact. A theory can be challenged but once something is a fact, as long as it has been correctly labeled as such, that's the end of it. Faith on the other had has more to do with feelings and wishful thinking. There's not much to back it up. It's primarily subjective which can't be shared in the same way physical facts can be. So it's easy for someone to say that there isn't enough evidence to warrant their believing in whatever it is you have faith in. On the other hand they can easily demonstrate that 2 + 2 = 4.

Nothing is philosophically unassailable, Honey. Literally, the word means love of thought, which counts nothing as sacrosanct. Truth is, you can argue anything, and as Heisenberg mathematically proved, nothing is for certain.
And the truth about the susceptibility of Faith is that those who believe but don't understand can be shaken, and those who don't believe, or don't wish to, will never believe. So Faith is not so much assailable as it is deniable. And, as a point of fact, it is perfectly possible to deny facts, too. People do it all the time.

What is a fact?
Why is it your opinion that facts are unassailable?
How do you define fact?
Your view of fact ca be and usually far different from someone esle's.Take, for instance two honest adults, They see the same car accident. Now, the police officer asks each one of them to give a detailed account of what they saw. Told separatly, they give two completely different stories. How do you determine between the two what is fact? Every individual has a different perspective.
Therefore, fact is relevent to the individual perspective.
This must mean that facts are just as susceptible to attack as faith!
This question doesnt make sense to me.?
But then again Im not the brightest bulb in the lamp.

A fact is something that is tangible, provable by either research or demonstration. Faith is intangible. It is a quality that can only exist within an individual. Depending upon the individual, faith will be present if differing degrees and can disappear, while facts are unchangeable.

Well, a fact is a hypothesis proven into theory through
rigorous scientific method.

Faith,is abstract, the very antithesis of fact.

Faith needs no scientific method in order to be believed.

Facts, need no existential explanation because they are composed of actual bits of real information that can be measured and studied.

I don't know why anyone would think philosophy is unassailable. It's merely man's opinion. Faith, well, the faith I have anyway, is in God's word, the bible. It doesn't matter who or what attacks it. "Heaven and earth shall pass away", Jesus said, "but my words will never pass away".

The only facts that are facts are the unchangeable properties that God created in the beginning, which once again prove that He is.
