Good question, the simple fact is that you will not find the answer here. See I could quote verse after verse to back up ones beliefs, but then someone would come back and dispute it. One has already say check out the Koran but even Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet. Well in the Muslim belief a prophet can not lie, so that puts them against the teachings of Jesus and the claim that he is a prophet is some what in question.

If it is true proof that you seek there is only one place that proof can be found and you probably won't like the answer. Simply put it is found in faith, a belief in things not seen. Each person on their own will make that choice, accept or not. May be that is over simplifying it just a bit but that is what it really comes down to.

See you can say, "I don't believe.", then nothing that I can say or do is going to change your mind. So why try? However if I choose to believe then by my choice I should first learn what I am believing in. Then I look at the model of the teaching and the life that Jesus lived. I by faith try to model my life after that, not as easy as it sounds. Yet if it is real to me than as my life is walking in the teaching of putting others before myself, having compassion for others, learning to become selfless instead of selfish, then the proof is more in the actions of my live instead of facts, places and events. The proof becomes real because of the walk not the words. Actions speak louder than words.

Which is more believable? Which carries more proof? When it comes to faith it is the actions of the person that shows the proof.

It is only with the heart that one will or will not believe that Jesus is the Son of God. I can't give you the proof one way or the other, all I can to is live what I have chosen to be believe. For me the proof is in my faith and I only hope that it is reflected in my walk.

The choice is up to you to decide, either believe or not, it is the choice we all make, alone.

I would only say read the Gospel of John then make an informed choice, its up to you what you will accept as proof anyway. No one can make that choice for you.

From his many miracles:

Jesus feeding the 5000 (Mk. 6: 37-44, cf. Col. 1: 16)

Jesus had power over nature. Jesus exhibited power over nature when he turned water into wine, calmed the tempest, and walked on the sea (Jn. 2: 1-11; Mk. 4: 35-41; 6: 47-50).

Demonstrations of his power over the demon world. Jesus cured a demoniac (demon possessed person, Mk. 1: 23-27). He challenged and cured a violent demoniac and a demon possessed person who was both blind and dumb (Mk. 5: 1-13, Matt. 12: 22, 23).

Jesus displayed miraculous power over the material realm. Jesus manifestly displayed miraculous ability over the material in the feeding of the five thousand (Mk. 6: 37-44).

Jesus was triumphant over physical diseases and infirmities. Jesus healed the mother of Peter's wife of a physical abnormality (Mk. 1: 30, 31). Jesus healed "every sickness and every disease among the people" (Matt. 9: 35). He even restored sight to the blind (Matt. 9: 27-31).

Jesus demonstrated his power over death. Jesus raised Jairus' daughter, the widow's son, and Lazarus from the dead (Mk. 5: 22-24; 35-43; Lk. 7: 11-17; Jn. 11: 34-46).

From eye witness acounts:

John 1:29 29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

John 1:33-34 3 I would not have known him, except that the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' 34 I have seen and I testify that this is the Son of God."

Matthew 27:54 4 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Matthew 16:16 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

From God himself:

Matthew 3:17 - 4:1 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

*Personal Revelation

It is true that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
But for such an important question you should get your own answer from God directly ...to confirm it to you....so that you will KNOW for certain that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He was crucified for the sins of the world. Then you will not have to depend upon the opinions of others and you will know the truth for yourself!

(Matt. 7:7 Ask and ye shall receive...)(James 1:5 If any one lack wisdom, let him ask of God...) etc..

If you ask---then God will answer---it will be in His own time and in His own way, and according to His own will.

Mat 27:54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

Mar 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Mar 5:7 And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, [thou] Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.

Jhn 9:35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?

Act 3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

1Cr 1:9 God [is] faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

2Cr 1:19 For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, [even] by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.

These are just a few verses of many that say the Jesus is the Son of God.

We know by faith that Jesus is and was the Son of God. It is not a blind and ignorant faith. It is a faith mixed with knowledge. Knowlege mostly in the Bible and belief that what it teaches is true.

The most important event was Jesus' resurrection. The whole world has changed because of it. Our calendar years are counted by it.

Without the resurrection, we worship Jesus in vain...but He proved himself God by it.
