To call from the US to another country you must follow these rules:
1.- Each country has a "country" code.
2.- You must dial first 00 ( That will tell the phone company you're calling international long distance ).
3.- Then you must dial the country code.
4.- Finally the area code and the local phone number.
So if you would be calling México, you would be dialing like this
00525512345678
Good luck!!

You have to dial "011" and then the country code first. You will find them in the front pages of the phone book along with directions for how to make international calls.
For Australia, for instance, you would dial 011-61- and then the entire phone number as it would be dialed in Australia, including an area code and then the phone number. UK is 011-44- and then the number.
Canada can be dialed just like any place in the US. Just remember to start with a "1" before you dial the area code. Or, if you are calling collect, dial a zero first.
These directions might not work if your phone carrier is not Verizon or some other major phone service provider. If they don't work, dial the operator and ask for help connecting.

you have to buy phone cards.
the can cost anywhere from $ 5, - 20, you dial the toll free number, and on your pin code. and then you call the international number. if you dont want to by phone cards you can simply call your telephone company and ask for an iternational long distance service.
i suggest you dont do that because my parents used to by the 5 dollar cards to call to africa( thats where i am from) but they asked the phone company to get the deal( they said it was $25) they ended up charging them $300 and it took my parents a while to pay it off so
what i suggest is you simply go to your closest convienet store or corner store and ask them for a phone card for the country of your choice ( australia, uk, canada) if they dont have them go to the next one
i know 7/11 has them

You normally have to dial an international dialing code, for me in the UK it's 00, then the number.
If you were dialing the UK you would dial the international code for your country followed by 44 for the UK and then the UK number - but you have to take off the first 0 from the UK number so for example you would call:
00 44 111 23232323 to dial the British number 0111 23232323 (a made up number by the way)
Hope this helps

You need to find the country codes as well as any other codes you may need that are country or area specific. I know for India the country code is 011 but there are also other codes you need after that but before the number depending on region.

Yes, look in the front of your telephone book. They all list the Country codes. All you do is dial the prefix and then their number.
