whats the point in daddy longlegs and why r they called daddy longlegs???

I don't know the point - but they are NOT spiders and I read that they are poisonous to be eaten by dogs and cats.

Twiz answered your question correctly. They are very poisonous to other bugs and spiders. They can't hurt humans. They, believe it or not, are good for us because their mouths bite other spiders. I hate spiders with a passion. But grand daddy longlegs is the only good spider. When I was little, I used to let them crawl over my hands and my arms. They can not hurt you.

actually, did you know that those are the most poisenous spiders in the world? they would kill a human instantly, but they cannot penetrate the human skin

Actually,their venom is highly poisonous.
Fortunately,their mouths(or whatever it is they use)are to small to bite you.
