I think my little 5 pound mate is devil possessed. She gets hysterical and acts like she will kill anyone who gets within arms length of me. She barks at everything and everyone. She has no use for the paper boy, the meter reader or mailman. I am downright ashamed of her sometimes. Where does she get this behavior and do all chihuahua's act like that?

If you want your Chihuahuas to be social then SOCIALIZE them, take them around different people, in different settings when they are young. Don't be afraid to let people touch, hold, play with your chihuahua the more people and different types of people they meet then your dog will become friendlier. If you keep them penned up inside away from people they think your home is their domain and any stranger is in trouble for trespassing!!!
Chihuahuas are like any breed they need to meet new people, experience new things. There are trainers that can teach a dog not to dominate humans so ask around. The Dog Whisperer taught a Chihuahua named NUNU to be less dominate so hang in there!

Most chihuahuas I have met are not too mellow or easy going. My parents have two and both at times can be little devils. The male is a little more laid back then the female. They don't try to attack anyone they are very yappy though. I think it is a breed thing. I maybe wrong, but all that I have met have been a bit high strung and very attached to their owners. Maybe try an obedient school or class. It maybe worth a try so you can take your dog out in public without having to leave or be embarrassed of her.

Chihuahuas are the worst, most annoying breed of all, they have what I call Napoleon complex, they think the are HUGE and want the world to do exactly as they say.
I hate Chihuahuas but it doesn't mean you can't help your dog. I think you should go to a good animal trainer to show YOU how to let your Chihuahua know she is not the boss. It sounds like you let that behavior go when she was younger because it was "SO cute" but now it is not so cute anymore. Good training can do wonders but it might take a while.

Chihuahuas are supposed to have "terrier like qualities" according to the standard, so you have to expect they're not going to be mellow or easy going. Why not do some obedience with her? You're not going to change her basic temperament, but you can harness it somewhat. Let her know that barking at everyone is not ok. A lot of dogs develop self-confidence with obedience training, making them a little more controllable.

I am a great fan of the Dog Whisper series on the National Geographic channel. I have seen Cesar Milan deal with some of these little tyrants and he does it successfully.
Having dealt with many shelter adoptions I am aware that many of the smaller breeds of bunnies and dogs can be difficult to manage. Somehow people have the misconception that small means more easily manageable.

make confident he's eating and especially eating lots, seem ahead to any signs and warning signs of quite misery ,like he's choking or something.verify his mouth and throat for something which will be lodged or hectic him.He appears like he probable has a chilly or sinus an infection chihuahua's are at probability of them, besides as respritory themes, basicly domestic dog asthema. He also would have licked some floor purifier or who knows what off his feet or gotten some hair in his mouth or throat, thats as hectic to him because it will be to you in case you probably did it...Take him in for a verify up if he isnt behaving more beneficial like your used to quickly ( cant say behaving many times with a chihuahua ;) they merely aint no such ingredient) .

They are a very protective breed. They generally attatch to one person (you obviously) and the will protect you from whoever decides to come near you. They don't seem to realize their size though.
