LMAO. I agree he should turn it down. I own the house, he does not. We will try to soundproff that side of the house somehow. I am just trying to compromise here.

Why does your boyfriend feel it is his right to play his music so loud that it bothers your neighbour? He feels oppressed?

Oppression is the negative outcome experienced by people targeted by the cruel exercise of power in a society or social group. The term itself derives from the idea of being "weighted down."

Your boyfriend isn't being oppressed. He is being asked to be considerate of others. Is that really so hard for him to understand?

Do you have an idea what you're doing to yourself with loud music? Really, WHAT is the need for the walls to vibrate with your music? First of all, loud noise causes the capillaries to constrict and that ultimately causes your blood pressure to go up... you don't believe it? Here's what you do: have someone take your blood pressure, and turn the music up for a few minutes and then have your blood pressure taken again and you'll see. Have you an idea of the harm that does to your entire body, your heart?

Also, you are destroying the tiny cilia in your ears and you are losing hearing every time you listen to very loud music. Soon you will think you are hearing a telephone ringing... that's just a symptom of hearing loss. You will be speaking a little louder because you don't hear yourself as well as before. Another sign of hearing loss. Stop it and stop harming yourself, and you hearing and stop annoying others.

You really should know better and you should learn some manners. You have rights but they end where the rights of others begin. It's your house but that doesn't give you the right to disrespect anyone. No one should be forced to listen to YOUR music, and that goes for your boyfriend. If he doesn't understand that, you now have a pretty good idea of his intelligence level.

It doesn't say much for you... you KNOW you're wrong and you still do it. Time to mature, don't you think?

Maybe your BF is oppressing the neighbors with his loud music. If his music can be heard from someone else's home then it is way too loud. I'm assuming he wants to wear hearing aids when he's 40 because if his music is that loud, he'll be deaf in no time, but then he probably already is and that's why the music has to be so loud. Some people just have no respect for the rights of others and think only of themselves. You may want to find a new BF, this one sounds like a loser to me.

1) Everyone has the right to say or to listen to whatever they feel like at whatever volume they want.

2) Everyone has the right not to have their peace and quiet interrupted.

3) Everyone must respect the rights of others.

This is called a compromise. Lower volume but still listen to music. Everyone gets what they want, just not all that they want.

Your boyfriend needs to grow up. He needs to use headphones, go to his own apartment, or turn off the music for a while.

what kind of music is your boyfriend playing? What religion are yoou and your neighbors? Give me those answers and I'll give you an airtight argument on your side.
If your boyfriend is playing something that the neighbors find offensive then they'll complain more.

being oppressed is when you put on music, the gestapo kicks down your door, smashes your stereo, smacks your head with a gun butt and urinates on your bushes on the way out.

being asked to be polite, which your bf is being asked, is being asked to grow up, to be decent, to - here's one; TREAT OTHER PEOPLE AS YOU'D LIKE TO BE TREATED.

Your bf need to grow up. Plain and simple.
