Come and feel very safe.
We are very fortunate in Hawaii to have no snakes of any type, and very few spiders that can make you sick.
I have live here 31 years and have never seen or heard of a tarantulas in the Islands.
On some of the Islands we do have a sugar cane spider. Or cane spider as we call it. It is large, but absolutely harmless. I keep one in my home along with the Geckos to eat bugs

You'll be fine, the Brady Bunch was also under a curse from a stone idol, so it's not actually based on real events.

Well as in anywhere you'd go there are spiders but it is most likely you will NOT incounter one if you are to visit the Islands of Hawai'i. Good Luck and Enjoy our Lovely Islands and its wonderful splenders it has to offer.

When I was there I never saw one so I think you will be fine. But I know how you feel I am extremely afraid of any kind of spider. I have arachnophobia so bad that I can't even look at pictures of spiders.
