It suggests to me that people care about dogs, and want to speak up for them as they can't do so for themselves.
If your point is that there are more pressing concerns in the world, then I'd agree, but these concerns have their own section on Yahoo Answers, and their own appropriate forums. That is where you'll find you can discuss those issues.

People love their dogs and people who love their dogs usually love all dogs and will take the time to really help someone else out with their pet.

The majority of people are animal lovers and own or have owned a dog. Even if they haven't owned one they will know someone who does and everyone has at least some experience of animals.

We like dogs maybe?? Did you think of that? You obviously don't think "deeply" about pets so why is it your bother reading this section????
Besides, I've never met a dog I didn't like and I can actually get along with them better than most people (like you)

It's easier to have more affection and understanding with a dog. And what ever we say about them they can't answer back. (most of them anyway)
