would date a person with a felony from when they were 18 who has turned their life around and are now in college and felony was just a mistake felony is for robbery of a coat

Why would the felony be a mistake? Did they or did they not do the deed? Personally, stealing a coat just shows a part of their personality. Would they aso rob a gas station?

If it was just over a coat then maybe I would. But if it was soemthing more serious no way in the hell. And be lucky that he told you what the felony was over. Some dudes never want to say what got them into jail.

Shoot, I've got a felony record as long as both arms and it never hampered me with women even before I changed. of course non of them were for theft or anything like that. They were all assault charges and they were all thrown out for being in self defense.

People do change and for the better and if this person has learned from their mistakes and really trying to turn their life around for the better, yes I would date them.

Well it seems like you are answering your own question by holding them in your 'good books'. Probe his/her friends, find out more about him/her. Family is the best place to start- knowing who they are, what they do, always helps to understand the background and bringing up if you are serious and its something you are considering long term.

everyone makes mistakes when they are young, being at the wrong place at the wrong time getting in with the wrong crowd of people, you say hes sorting his life out goin college! you`ve answered your own question! be there for him and stop dwelling on the past!
