How do you roll your tongue and make the "rr" sound in spanish. Is that something I can learn or is it something you can do naturally. My family has no Hispanic backround but my sister can do it.

You'll just have to practice. Like making a sound with the tip of your tongue that sounds like a cat purring very loud.
Practice. Practice. Practice. Try this: put the tip lightly on the roof of your mouth and force air out of your mouth trying to get your tongue to vibrate. That might help (if not, get a lemon, cut it in half, lick it and then try to roll your "rr").
(I've met some 100% non-Hispanic Americans that speak BETER Spanish than most Hispanic I know, with accent and all! It endars Hispanics to them and makes Hispanics want to help them and invite them to all sorts of activities). I've met three Black Americans, a Hungarian-American; my ex-wife has a friend (Black American) who forced herself to learn Spanish, studied 2 years in Spain and when she had her two daughters, she went out of her way to get a baby-sitter who only spoke Spanish to her two daughters. Her two daughters today speak fluent Spanish, Italian and French plus English, of course. These two young ladies were also both straight "A" students).

Good Question. I am not Hispanic either but I can roll my R's. I put the tip of my tongue to the roof of my mouth and blow air through it. It takes practice, but you'll get it.

I took a Spanish course a couple weeks ago. it is something you have to practice. some people are able to learn foreign languages easily and can do it naturally. for some (including yours truly) it takes a looooot of time to get a natural pronunciation.

Something you can do naturally. I'm not hispanic but I can do it. Some people just can't and I don't know why. But I really don't know if it's something you can learn. I guess it is.
