I"m fine obviously, pepole don't want to know the truth, they are just being polite. Now it's a close friend or family member I might tell them the truth if I'm not doing to well, but it depends.

I would say to this person.........."I'm just great! How about you"? Then, be on your way and don't stop for a conversation, unless you know the other person. And, if you do know them, perhaps they are trying to 'break the ice'?

If it's an interesting person, answer in a friendly manner and with a (light) smile.
